Gallery back, again
This is what I get for brutally tearing down my site, having to rebuild an entire gallery. A pleasant surprise this time around however was the new gallery function introduced with WordPress 2.5
The gallery is currently 100% plugin-independent which is always a good thing. I also have a lot more control over it now since it’s all built manually with pages.
But I couldn’t find any guides on how to do it so I’m thinking maybe I should write a little guide on how I did it in case anyone would like to try it out for themselves(?)
WordPress 2.5
It just had to come to this, I’m afraid. My old 2.3 installation was way past it’s date and beyond the ability to update because of all my customizations to the core (not to mention incredibly hacker friendly due to newly discovered security holes)
This time around I’ll try to take a non-intrusive approach to customizing it, like plug-in-based-only and hopefully upgrading to 2.*-3.0 won’t be so painful in the future.
Now all I have to do is find a good theme, a bunch of plug-ins and start manually importing one and one post to get this site back on it’s feet.
Thanks for you patience in the mean time, and if there’s anything you’re looking for, any links or whatever, just leave a comment in this post and I’ll see what I can do.
