The Kissing Lincolns Penny
Back in the days my grandfather worked as a machinist on a big freighter. He would travel all over the world and whenever he was on shore leave he’d collect lots of coins as souvenirs. Last year he handed over his entire collection to me — I just took a quick look through the collection and stored it away as coin collecting ain’t exactly my favorite hobby.
So, this Sunday I’m watching The Simpsons where Homer and Bart was collecting coins and discovers a page in the collection book with a reserved slot for a misprint coin, “The Kissing Lincolns Penny” and I’m thinking “Wow, there’s more of these?” That’s because I remember seeing a similar coin in my grandfathers collection, but didn’t really give it any more notice.
Anyways, I looked through the big bag o’ coins today and managed to find it again, scanned it for your viewing pleasure, and as you can see, it sure is one of the “Kissing Lincolns” coins, if not the only one? :O

Yeah, I was watching the episode on Hulu, and I had to pause it to see if there was any merit to the Simpsons reference. Thanks for making my day, and have fun editing.
