Bioshock CAN run on old graphics cards
Just look at this, it’s actually running pretty smooth on my “outdated” X850XT PE. ScottJG, WarAnakin and Phazz over at the 2K Forum have been fooling around with the shader file for the game, manually going over all the code and tweaking it little by little making it possible to play the game on Shader Model 2.0 cards with decent looking graphics and performance, it’s not quite there yet but it’s closing in. Read on for solution downloads and installation instructions, updated each release!

Oh that’s pushing it… If it were possible I don’t think you’d get an acceptable framerate anyways. It’s just barely running on my card with all settings on crap :)
Hey, I have BioShock and I play it on ATI Radeon X800 XT and I have the hotfix, and I tried both betas (1 and 2) and it doesn’t run like it runs on your video, McKack (BioShock Shader Model 2.0 Patch Beta.
I have it like 256 colours, ichy. And I don’t have problems with effects or anything, I run HL2:EP1 with max specs, but thing game freaks me out. I want to play it so much!! Can you tell me whether or not there’s hope for me yet? Even worked for me on my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop (with lag, going to buy be some more RAM)Phazz’ Patch.

My graphic card is ATI Radeon 9600 well it doesnt work rlly good, some areas are still pure white.(I used one of the shaders). Can someone help me to fix that problem please ! (I also toggled all graphic options off)
hello all, ive been messing with lots of packs, ive found one with nice water and one with decent lighting, im going to try an mix the two together and see if i can get a decent middle, Im Using a radeon 9550 256 mb AGP@4x Ill repost, later and thanks for this Hack (mod)
[..YouTube..] What’s with the a/v mixup in the bathysphere? It even seemed to correct itself after a bit.

[..YouTube..] I downloaded a fix for the SM2.0 bug, albeit a different one, and it has that same synchronization problem going on.Is there anything that can be done about it?

[..YouTube..] Yes, according to nvidia’s site the 6150 motherboard GPUs have Shader Model 3.0 support. [..YouTube..] LE cards are a little weaker, yes, so I can’t vouch for the performance. Not to mention the CPU means a lot too.I suggest you get the demo. No risk of buying a game you can’t play then.

I have the 6100 and it works but isn’t… good. Will this fix help it? I plan to get a 9600GT so don’t go lecturing me on how I need to upgrade, I just don’t know when I’ll get the money.
will a geforce 3 ti500 work with any patch?:P why doesn’t anyone bother with making a patch like that? there’s still loads of ppl who use fx series cards for example!
