Hello teacher, tell me what’s my lesson

Hi there everybody coming from Google in the search for the lyrics/piano sheets for this song called “Mad World”, made famous through the movie Donnie Darko and later the Gears of War TV commercial.

You can get the piano sheets here

Here’s the lyrics:

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I’m dying
Are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It’s a very, very …
Mad world … Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And they feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I’m dying
Are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It’s a very, very …
Mad world … Mad world …
Enlargen your world …
Mad world.

Finally after all these years I have a keyboard yet again. You see I used to play alot before on this old keyboard I got from my uncle. Not that I had any skills or anything. I would listen to music and then try to repeat it, without knowing any chords or whatever, and after a while I would be able to play that music from memory. Oh yes, good times.
After I got a decent computer it didn’t take me long to discover programs like Fruityloops, Reason, Cubase and so on. Only problem was when I fiddled with those I never got that “experimental” feeling I used to have before, untill now! I’ve decided, after talking to some musical friends of mine that knows this s**t in and out, that I’ll try to learn myself Reason.

Now, this may not be much, but I’m kinda proud of what I managed to compile as a result of messing around with Reason for something like 5 hours :) I present to you, the very first “official” piece of music created by yours truly. I calls it “Whine” cause it sounds like the music is sad. Probably a more professional term for it, music-wise, but here you go anyways

@1: That's the exact same thing I did. The lyrics were, tha I searched, "Hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson? Look right through me, look right through me" to see what came up in Google. Glad I found this website. Have been looking for the piano sheet in a while.
  • Moodle moodle desu ne?
  • That’ll bring you more traffic.

Besides, it’s much more interesting to find some lyrics in an blog article than in one of those vast and commercial lyric providers we can find on the Web.

Thank you, and yeah, I noticed a lot of traffic comming from Google searches for this song :D Unfortunatly there were neither lyrics or piano sheets here originally so I decided to do a little greeting to catch peopls attention and provide what they seemed to be looking for.

    That’s brilliant.
You read through our minds : I’ve just watched - again - Donnie Darko and I typed some of the lyrics to find the song. Those lyrics were, exactly, “Hello teacher, tell me what’s my lesson”.
What a surprising coincidence atfer such a movie ;) . Frank ? Are you here ?

    Geat song, by the way.
